Igor and Alesia met at university. Same taste in music, same sense of humour, same restlessness with anything mediocre.

In 2015, they ended up at a party where someone performed shibari. Then flagellation. They'd never seen either done well — not just technically, but beautifully.

What followed was the usual path: buying gear, being disappointed, buying more gear, being disappointed again. Everything on the market was built to function and nothing more. No thought given to weight, balance, or the simple fact that these objects are held, felt, and remembered.

At a private BDSM event in Kyiv, they met two craftsmen — veterans of Ukraine's early kink scene, known in narrow circles for making devices that were genuinely exceptional. Not for sale. Made for themselves and their own. Igor and Alesia recognised immediately what they were looking at.

That was the beginning. In 2017, tired of office work and certain about what they wanted to build, they opened a shop on Etsy. The first order came from the United States. For two people in Kyiv, that felt like confirmation.

The whips and floggers are made by two Ukrainian masters — both practitioners, both part of Ukraine's BDSM community from its earliest days. One of them spent years teaching technique at Ukrainian BDSM events. They know what a well-made device feels like because they've used one for decades.

Every piece that leaves the workshop is checked by Igor and Alesia personally. Both of them practice. They know what they're looking for. If we wouldn't use it ourselves, we won't sell it.

The ropes are a different story. After years of searching for jute they were actually happy with, they decided it was simpler to learn to make it themselves. Alesia leads that process — selecting the raw jute, treating and conditioning each set by hand in their Kyiv workshop. Igor tests every finished set before it ships. You can feel the difference the first time you handle one. If it doesn't feel right, it doesn't go out.

We've never scaled in ways that compromise quality. Every order still goes through the same hands, the same check, the same standard. That's a choice and we intend to keep it.

When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, the first weeks were chaos. Some orders were lost. Some were delayed at customs during missile strikes on infrastructure. We refunded every one of them.

Then we adapted. Today we have 10 to 15 shipping options depending on the destination. Delivery takes 7 to 10 days. Our promise: if your order doesn't arrive, we resend it or refund you in full. No questions, no forms, no waiting. We've shipped through a war. We know what it means when something doesn't get there.

Working from Kyiv during a war is difficult. We do it anyway — because the work matters, because our craftsmen are here, and because every order is a small act of keeping Ukrainian craft alive.
